Lovely Kerosene Lamps

I mentioned last Wednesday that last Sunday, we "ventured" into the southern part of the city just to go to Book Sale.

Well, aside from Book Sale, we also discovered that NCCC Mall's grocery store is a lot bigger and grander now! The range of products is just awesome; as a grocery-loving family, we were like kids in Disneyland. I've never been to Target but I'm imagining that must be their peg.

I saw cool building toys (logs, not bricks) and dollhouses and toy kitchenettes. It's a shame that the kitchenette was pink; girls lang ba ang naglulutu-lutoan? But what really caught my attention was the whiteboard easel. I don't know what I was thinking and di ko kinuha ang price. Now I can't compare it with IKEA's Mala easel. If only I can show you the toys. I really regret not taking any photos!

Obviously, I didn't get any of those toys (aiming for that easel), at least not yet. Because I spent na for books and haven't paid my tithes and bills yet. So what I got was just this:
kerosene lamp
I know what you're thinking: in a world of LEDs and batteries, what am I gonna do with a kerosene lamp?

Display it, duh! :D

I don't know. I couldn't resist its vintage look and charm. Actually, I wanted a kerosene lamp ever since I saw a real vintage one at Gingersnaps Abreeza's display window. My mom knew this and she was actually the one who first saw the lamps in the grocery and pointed them out to me.

I liked them but didn't plan on buying. Upon closer inspection, naku, P140 lang pala? I immediately got one. Who knows when I might be able to come back, or if they'll still be there when I do come back?

I haven't taken it out from the plastic wrap yet because I don't want it to get dusty. After all, I'm putting it on display when we move to our own house in 3,2,1 - maybe 5 years. Hehe. I'll just keep it. By the time we move, I think I'm gonna paint it red, too. These are my pegs:

Aren't they pretty? Now I can't decide which is the prettiest color. This makes me want to get 2 more! Plus they have an LED version, which costs P395. Maybe I'll get that, too! Grocery-shopping at NCCC Mall has become a must-do for us, and this isn't even a sponsored post. If only they were nearer!

PS: We also spotted boxes of, guess what, Cow's Colostrum. I don't remember the brand, and as usual, I didn't take a photo. I think it was a little over P1k for the small box (maybe 300ml?) and almost P2k for the bigger one. Can you spell pricey?
