Photo Dump: Birthday Packages!

I was about to make a post about what makes me happy. However, I think you've had enough of Y and J here and here. Now, let's just talk about what made me smile during my birthday week: packages!

Before anything else, let me clarify that I did not go on a shopping spree. Promise! At most of them ay hindi rin regalo (unfortunately! haha!). It just so happened na may sinalihan akong mga contests and giveaways, at nagkataon na sa birthday ko dumating. Talk about serendipity!

Well, here they are! Brace yourself for a barrage of photos! (Don't say I didn't warn you.)

Boogie Wipes

Boogie Wipes are saline wipes made especially for children's runny and stuffy noses. Whenever Y catches a cold, I had to boil water and mix it with salt to make saline solution. When I heard of Boogie Wipes, naisip ko, wow convenient! However, it is still not available in the city.

But lo and behold! I won a canister of Boogie Wipes plus sample sachets from GoJackieGo's Mother's Day Giveaway. So happy! And Ms. Evee of 3 Busy Bees, Philippines' distributor, was soo nice. May letter pa ako! I want to review this one, pero hindi pa namin nagagamit kasi di pa naman needed. Di rin naman kami nagmamadaling gamitin to. :-P

Belle de Jour Forget-Me-Not Idea Journal, To-Do List, and Money Tracker

I won these cute and practical notepads from BDJ's last survey. They gave these away to the first 500 who answered. Syempre, I answered agad hehe. I think I also won these nung survey last year, but they were not shipping the prices then eh, so hindi ko nakuha. I think lang ha, hindi ako sure.

Anyway, I'm in love with all of them, especially the Money Tracker! This is also my favorite feature in my BDJ Planner eh. But I'm not using them yet because I feel they would be of best use when I'm already managing my own household. As of now, I'll just look at them. They register so nice on the camera no? Photogenic!

Gift from Papa J

And last but not the least, totoong gift na! I mentioned in this post how I didn't ask anything from J na. It's not that I did not want anything from him (I do!). It's just, wala lang, hindi ko naman kailangan ng gift eh. By the way, I mentioned na he just paid for his sibling's tuition fees. Sorry, my mistake. Mga gamit pala ng mga kapatid nya, sorry naman. And he just paid for a seminar last week.

Still, I didn't expect the gift that arrived on my doorstep. Sorry, closeup lang ang photo sa taas para may air of secrecy #chos. But seriously, I was amazed because I have never worn that kind of garment before. When I tried it on, though, pwede! I love it of course!

Side Story:

Actually, there were two more packages delivered to our house last week, but those were diapers from Y (sale kasi sa Lazada). Virtually everyday talaga may dumarating na package that week. When the deliveryman from LBC delivered the Boogie Wipes, eto sabi nya:

Deliveryman: Ma'am, na-wrong spelling po pangalan nyo sa shipping.
Me: Talaga? Buti naman natunton nyo ako!
Deliveryman: Syempre po, pagkakita namin ng address, alam namin kayo yun.
Me: Nge! Hehehe. Sorry naman kuya.
Deliveryman: Para sa bata na naman po ito ma'am?
Me: Hehe opo, premyo lang po.

After a couple of days, another deliveryman delivered J's gift. While I was signing, he said:

Ma'am, fashion-fashion na naman yan no?

Oh no! Kilala na ba ako talaga ng mga taga-LBC? Parang ayoko munang mag-order! Actually, wala pa nga akong inoorder sa lagay na yan! :D

OC Davao Mommy

I usually don't call myself OC. The honor goes to my dad, who is clinically obsessive-compulsive. I'm not kidding. He's a certified germaphobe and his favorite fantasy is to ultimately defeat bacteria. Oh well. So what's the point of this post? Nothing, just that I am an obsessive planner and listmaker, and I think the habit's becoming "worse."

I've been like this for the longest time, but I think being a mom and working from home intensified it. But trust me, it can easily become an irritating habit. Even J gets irked by it sometimes.

The classic example is my BDJ planner, which I can't live without. But there is more than meets the eye. Within this planner are lists, doodles, and more lists. Here is a couple of them:

I also created a salary logsheet for my only employee, Y's yaya:
Of course, I also follow a schedule to guide us throughout the day. I'm glad our yaya follows suit. Without it, or when the schedule doesn't get followed, I feel that my life for that day is thrown off-balance. This schedule is very detailed and includes all of our major chores. Here's our schedule, if you want to see it:

It is detailed. Don't say I didn't warn you!
And in my phone, a couple of my most favorite apps allow me to create lists. One is EasyNote for random note-taking and list-making, while the other is MoBill, where I can list my bills and payables.

In my future home, I plan to have lots of lists. Would you laugh at me if I say that one of my fantasies would be to frame some of those lists? I can't do that here in my parents' house because my clinically OC dad complains of the dust my lists gather. Really, pa? Really?!

When making lists, I get the satisfaction of knowing that things somehow gets into order. I also get satisfied by the thought that my thoughts are written on paper so I won't forget them. Aside from just making list, I also get immense satisfaction by crossing out the things I've already done. Aaaahhhh.

I also have lists for my dreams, things I want to do, things I want to be in ten years, the websites I plan to visit the next day, the books I intend to read, grocery lists, needs-list, wants-list... You get the idea.

How about you? Any other self-confessed OC or list-addicts out there?

Another Chance at a BDJ Planner

From the planner's back
I first bought a Belle de Jour (BDJ) planner last year. I was amazed of all the reviews it got, and sure enough, when I checked out its photos, the pages were all pretty! Plus, there were virtually unlimited coupons to fit any kind of girl. And just like that, I was sold.

I became what they call a Bella.

The two planners, side by side. Caught on camera: stubby hands taking a photo
Unfortunately, last year was the most hectic I ever had. Sure, I had no full-time job for most of the year. But due to the arrival of a little man called Y, I barely had time to take a bath, let alone write something in my planner. A few times, I heroically opened the planner, but those times were so few. So basically, the planner was left untouched.

A barely touched 2012 planner
Alright. Never touched.
And the coupons? I almost never went out last year. When I was still pregnant, I was huge and had acne (for the first time, I swear), and was too self-conscious to go to the mall. And when I gave birth, I never had time to shop (until just recently). So no, not one was used. At all.

Now, I want to give myself another chance. Surely, I won't be as busy as last year, right? Even though I now have a full-time job, I know I can find time to write things down because Y is bigger and we have a yaya. Then, I actually had a dilemma on what planner to use. Should I still avail of a BDJ planner, even when it costs higher than other planners? Should I buy cheaper planners? Should I try planners made for moms? But when I checked out the photos of the new BDJ planner, I was sold - again.

So I ordered another planner from BDJ. It arrived almost two weeks ago (so this is a late post):

Swiftly delivered by LBC. I swear, the people from LBC already know me!
The opening quote. I don't know why the text appeared curve in my photo...
BDJ 2013
Actually, my first choice was the limited edition, minimalist, leather cover. However, I think it costs too much for a planner. And the content is still the same, anyway. But I swear, I'm going to get that cover next year, if they still produce it. Anyway, here are some of my favorite planner features:

2013 Goals
Dream Board: I already have an idea of what to put in it, but I need to find a good pencil.
2013 Checklist: Can I complete them this year?
At least, I already have one number checked. :-)
Menstrual Tracker: I wasn't able to use this feature last year, but I may be able to use it now.
Gift List: Perfect for someone like me who goes overboard on buying gifts
Wardrobe Checklist: A new feature for the planner. This would come in handy when I begin my "de-cluttering"
Do I have enough styles? Do I have enough colors? This feature would really make a lot of girls giddy.
A Bills Tracker for the budget-conscious me.

And, of course, a Cash Tracker: the only feature I abused in last year's planner.
I already started using it, which reminds me... I haven't written anything this week yet!

January 2013 :-)
Doodle-happy
I have a feeling my planner will be full of doodles.
BUT WAIT! I am disappointed with the current planner's coupons. There are less coupons that I could avail of, unlike last year's. Viviamo, if you're reading this, please take note that not all of your customers reside in the Greater Manila Area. Please, please, please partner with stores that are also available in Mindanao! Aren't we as important? *bats eyelashes*

How about you? What planner are you using? :-)

PS: Some of the photos have a pinkish tone because I took the photos against a red curtain. Bad move.
