Sunday Fun-and-Fab Finds: On Feeding Stuff, Board Books, and Lang Leav

Hi! How was your weekend? Mine got unintentionally extended through Monday because our yaya announced at the last minute that she's going home yesterday for her birthday. Ooookay. Good thing my job has a flexible schedule.

Anyway, I feel like it's Monday now. Yesterday, I posted a pre-drafted post about my our plans for Yuri's preschool. Today, let me tell you how my real weekend (read: Sunday) went. My sister's birthday was last Saturday (yes, my mother's and my sister's birthdays are exactly 1 week apart, and because we had birthday dinner last Saturday, we went for a simple birthday lunch last Sunday). I have several fun-and-fab finds! First, here's Yuri's simple OOTD!
Oh no, I forgot the shirt's brand, and I'm too lazy to go upstairs to look at it!
Pants - Baby Mossimo
Suspenders - SM Department Store
Shoes - Children's Place
Aaaand here's an outtake. The little boy can't resist getting his shoes! He wants to wear them na!
It's also getting more and more difficult to take Yuri's picture. He's always a blur!
And here's what I wore. Nothing special!
The acrobatics that I have to deal with every single day!
Job: What do you want for Christmas?
Me: A tummy tuck.
Little gentleman in suspenders
Don't be fooled with this photo. He was still for only about a nanosecond!

After church, we ate lunch in Abreeza, and we met Jollibee again!
Look at the pure delight on Yuri's face!
And Yuri test-drove cars, too.
This looks okaaay.
Hmmm. *thinking deeply*
Oh. Sino ka?! Charot. We're making friends here.
And Yuri test-drives another car. This time, it's an open Jeep.
This is good, too. Oh decisions, decisions.
We went to SM Lanang Premier afterward and saw the Davao Collective Gourmet again.

Another Sale Sunday! Part 2 - The Sale Finds

And finally, what we bought last Sunday! I'm not promising that these are the most fab items that you will ever see. Char, what a far-fetched thought hahaha. But I'm promising that these are cheap finds - nothing more than P500, promise!

Segue: I'm actually thinking of creating a new category for this blog. I will devote it to my "Kuripot Finds," all below P500. I'm kuripot at heart so I won't have a problem writing about these! I hope I can give a new direction to this blog when it turns 1 on September. :-)

Anyway, let's go back to the sales last Sunday. First stop: SM's very own clearance sale.
Photo: https://www.facebook.com/smlanangpremier
SM Department Store cleared up an entire space for all clothing brands that are on sale. Parang garage sale ang peg - OMG I just used the phrase haha. It might not be much to look at, but it saves time for bargain hunters like me! No need to check whether something is included in the sale or not. Nice!

I actually noticed the clearance sale last Sunday but did not take heed because we focused on the F21 sale. In hindsight, we should have scoured this clearance sale instead kasi mas maraming maganda at mura. Just my opinion - no quoting please! :P

Hahaha! I needed to place Y in this basket because he was too malikot! I couldn't choose freely because this little man was too busy running around!
Miss, magkano tong bata? He had fun for a while but still proceeded to running after!
Since I've no budget left for more clothes na (#saving), I just bought what I needed to buy that time. What was annoying was that my mom and sister took forever choosing clothes and fitting them. In the end, wala pala silang gusto! My mom returned everything that she fitted, while my sister only chose one:

Cute polka-dotted top: steal at only P300!
Kaloka, ang chu-choosy!

Meanwhile, this is my only purchase:

Details only para sur-fries! This is my long-overdue "gift" to someone. Hopia like it! And of course, no price! :P
Now, what I really needed to buy that day are shoes. I suppose you have already read my posts where I implied my need for flats - particularly black and neutral ones. You see, I seriously need shoes that I can use to run with a hyperactive toddler. My sandals and kitten-heels won't do the job.

I tried my luck at the department store first. Nah! The ones I liked were out of budget, and the ones within my budget are too blah. As luck would have it, I spotted a sale sign in one shoe boutique. Next stop: Celine!

I am a quick shopper. Unless I really could not find one I like, I don't take too long in a store or boutique. Turo lang ng isang style, ask for a size 37 for shoes or medium sa clothes (chos!), fit, bayad, tapos!

So I immediately found two pairs that I liked. Of course, my mom and sister are another story. While I waited for them, picture-picture muna!

You know my usual breastfeeding clothes and Y's clothes na ata. Hahaha!
My sister, who's a dalagita na! *sniff*
(Ssshh, bitbit namin yung takeout from Giligan's haha!)
Paying na - yay!
So what did we get? Again, nothing over P500! Here they are:

All four pairs for just a little over P1,500!

Mom's brown loafers for out-of-town trips - P500!
My tan ballerina flats (perfect for running!) - P500!
Faux snakeskin black flats (finally!) - get this, P350!!
And finally, my sister's bakya - P200!!
See, sulit talaga when you buy in clearance sales! Unless you're a certified fashionista, I don't think you have to get the latest season's collection naman. What are you waiting for? Attack na!

*Grainy SM photos were taken using my phone.

Sale Sunday!

http://www.instagram.com/maanlaxa
To be honest, I was really looking forward to last Sunday. Nothing special about it, really, but I heard Forever 21 was having another end-of-season sale. Since I've become a Forever 21 convert last year (read about the shopping spree here), I've always looked forward to the sales!

What I love about F21 sales is that virtually everything inside the store is sale talaga and 50% off! The cheapskate frugal girl in me just couldn't resist it. Plus, I was on a self-imposed (actually forced) shopping fast last month and I wasn't able to buy myself anything for my birthday. Boohoo. So I planned to "make bawi." Ano daw?

But first, we went to church first. We went to Carmelite Monastery, which is just a stone's throw from SM Lanang Premier. It was our first time (me and my sister) to go inside, but I've been passing by this monastery since forever.

Anyway, here's how it looked inside:

Nobody was inside because there's no mass. The scheduled mass is only at 7 in the morning.
My favorite part: the balcony
My sister's favorite part: the grotto with (fish) pond
PS: George, that's supposed to be your skirt. :P
Finally at SM!
Disclaimer: That's not my bag; that's my mom's. I just held it for her because she took Y from me hehe
Inside F21's fitting room. OOTD - closet-raid fashion!
Denim top: My sister's
Leggings: My mom's
Hahahaha sorry naman
After I bought a couple of dresses (I didn't go overboard - still saving :D), my sister still was not able to find something for her. She saw a shirt, but we all opposed to it because it was too plain for its price. Yes, we're a dresses-and-frills-loving family. So we went to the next store: Cottton On.

Well, that was my first time in Cotton On. Maybe I expected too much due to the hype it caused when it opened a few months back, but frankly, the selection was not impressive. Just the basics, and I feel the clothes were too "rugged" for my type. Nevertheless, my sister found a dress that she liked. :-)

And at last, off to the grocery we went!

At first, Y was behaving perfectly in the grocery cart...
Onesies - Carter's
Shorts - Kid Zone
Sandals - Champion
... But all good things come to end when he decided inspecting the alcohol display  and turning everything upside down (much to the salesperson's dismay) was his idea of fun.
The fact that there were two free-tastes that day (Lucky Me noodles and TJ hotdogs) made my sister giddy with joy. Hahaha!

Before we end this post, here are what we bought:

Jeunesse Napkin

I've read a lot of good (even raving) reviews about this napkin brand and since I'm "riding the crimson wave" now, I decided to give it a try. It's designed to reduce cramps daw. So far so good!

Pack of 8 - P80
My modest Forever 21 loot

My sister said I bought dresses in Barbie colors. Haha I didn't notice! And look, they even fit with my blog's current theme! Ngayon ko lang napansin hehe.

Jade dress - Original price: P595 |  Sale price: P300
Neon Coral dress - Original price: P745 |  Sale price: P372.50
My sister's "mature" Cotton On dress

Black Aztec dress - Original price: P1,199 |  Sale price: P400
Oh diba? Winner ang aming discounts! Hahaha cheapskate

Tip: Cotton On sizes run large. Look at my sister's dress. The tag says XXS and it could easily fit any medium-built Filipina. So when ordering online, look for apparel that is one or two sizes smaller than your regular size.

Finally, as if my weekend couldn't get any better, I got a surprise package from a dear neighbor. She just got home from Japan and gave us beautiful gifts. Here's what she got for me and my sister:
Yes, F21 again!!
Legwear in different shades of pink! Thanks, Tita!
How was your weekend guys? :D

PS: Church and mall photos are taken with my phone, hence the poor quality.
