Teal and Sandals

It's been a week since I've written a decent post. My excuse is that I'm busy. I'm working on a garage sale of my clothes. You see, since I've lost weight (yabang!), a lot of my clothes don't fit me already. It wouldn't make sense to keep them in an already overflowing closet, so I decided to just sell them for cheap.

Ugh, an overflowing closet. Don't all girls have this problem? I wish I can say it's a good problem, but not really, since when you look at it, the only clothes that you still wear comprise just a third of the heap. And I still can't decide whether to sell them on Facebook or Instagram. Any suggestions?

On the other hand, I'm keeping most of the dresses I bought post-pregnancy, mainly because they are very comfy and are perfect for breastfeeding. Here is one of those dresses:

Dress: Forme
Bag: Parisian
Sandals: Mario d'Boro

On Y:
Onesies: Carter's
Shorts: Kidstyle
Sandals: Disney
I'm sorry for the angle. My sister took this photo sitting on a chair. Anyway, I got this dress on sale! It was originally priced at P900+ I think, and I got it for only less than P400. It's lightweight so its ferfek for summer! :-)

Both Y and I are wearing sandals. It is summer after all! Please ignore my dark knees. Does anyone know a solution for it? Please tell me.

Uh, we still wear rattle bracelets from time to time. :P

Rattle bracelet: Mothercare
My dress goes along with  the details of Y's bracelet. And Y's sandals are a shade of blue, too! Teehee.

She does!
We were supposed to wear this onesies (is it right to say "onesy"?) the day before, which is my sister's Recognition Rites. She's an honor student after all, so she rocks! Unfortunately, the ceremonies begin at 8am, and Y woke up late. Oh well!

I don't know how to end this post already, so let's just take a look at this photo of Y. Hahaha!

Can you spot the pink rabbit peeking from behind my bag? :-)

What's In Your Bag: The Graphic Designer

It's been so long since I've done a proper post. Blame it on the sudden glitch of my blog. It has always shown post summaries (in contrast to full posts) until last Thursday. All of a sudden, biglang puro full posts na! I don't like showing full posts kasi parang ang sikip-sikip ng page ko. Worse, all of my most recent posts are long, so puno entire page. Ayun, gulo-gulo buhay.

And whatever I did did not make any change to the blog. I even submitted a query to the Google forum. Someone suggested that my blog could have had javascript errors (#nosebleed), pero wala talaga. I debugged (and debugged forevermore), pero wala pa rin. Until I decided to just revert everything to default and added this script from http://www.blogxpertise.com/, and - guess what - it worked! Hay nako, expert ka talaga! I'm really so happy now.

SFX: Alleluiah!
Cue in: Angels na bumababa sa langit

When you blog, it's really a must that you know the basics of coding. Kahit copy-copy lang. At least you understand what you're doing. Now, kung hindi na kaya, let's leave it to the professionals, like my friend, Teena. You met her already when I reunioned with my friends in Abreeza (read about it here).

You read about our OOTDs (pagbigyan nyo na kami), but what you did not know was we also took photos of Teena's bag's contents for a WIYB (what's in your bag) post. Well, actually, George and Teena took photos while I was breastfeeding Y. Hehe.

So what's inside a graphic designer's bag? Here are what Teena brings inside her bag:

Taken at a couch in Abreeza's lounge :B

1. Notebook
Teena never leaves without toting a notebook. Back in college, the notebooks are primarily for classes and meetings. Now, it's for work.

2. Gucci Sunglasses
Kashe mainit. Ahahahaha (what else are sunglasses for?)

3. Hair Curlers
For the kikay in Teena. But I'm baffled. San mo to gagamitin? Ahahaha

4. iPad 3
Teena is the Gadget Queen. She has all Apple products, methinks. The only Apple product I own is nothing. #truestory. But I guess gadgets are a must for people who work in the app development industry, amayright?

5. Nexus Tablet Cover
I'm wondering about this, too. Do you also have a Nexus tablet??

6. Eyeglasses
Almost all of my friends have eye problems (except me). She wears contacts sometimes, but I guess she also needs sunglasses. Oh, I remember that time when she wore "alien-slash-big eye" contacts. Harhar.

7. Vaseline Lotion
Trivia: She never ever leaves the house without bringing with her a tub of lotion. Since back in college, she's always had this habit. And she doesn't buy small bottles ha. Dala nya talaga yung main lotion nya.

Plus, she also slathers lotion on herself when she's bored. Weird no? Hahaha :P

8. Daycraft Animaland Planner
Oooh, this is my belated birthday gift! I was actually lusting over it when I wrapped it. Ang cute nya kasi, plus it has a lot of cute features inside. Maybe I'll have this planner next year in lieu of my traditional BDJ

9. Kipling Purse
It's all about the money. Yeah.

10. Passport
She needed to work in Vietnam last year, which explains the passport. Since then, she has been to a lot of countries (4 or 5?) already. Jetsetter you!

*Not in photo: iPhone (4 or 4s? not sure) - She was charging her phone when George took photos. :P
* Also not in photo: Macbook Air

The bag owner
That's it! I wonder who I can barage next for a WIYB post. Knowing the fact that I'm just home most of the time, it would probably just be my bag. Hahahahaokay #poorme.

Six Uses for a Bank Loan

Finance-savvy individuals aim to be financially free. It's a must to maintain an emergency fund in the bank (or wherever the funds will stay liquid) so that we have enough money for - you guessed it - emergencies. But what if we haven't prepared enough? Experts say it is wise to keep at least 6 months worth of your income. But what if the emergency entails more than that?

There are also some things we need to acquire which we might not immediately afford. Take note that I said "need" and not "want." A house falls under a need; a new gadget does not.

This is where a bank loan comes in (provided you pay it as soon as you can, of course!). Let's read this guest post on the six uses of a bank loan.

Image from zuuply.com
People often take out bank loans to help them with a variety of purposes; however, you might not realize all of the uses for such a loan. What are six of the ways a bank loan can be utilized?

For an Education

Attending university certainly comes with a large cost, but bank loans can help to pay for schooling. Once the student has finished his or her studies, the loan will start to be paid back in small increments over time. Some parents might look into these loans if they want to send their children to private or boarding school.

For a New Car

Chugging along in a broken-down car every day to work or school is not only annoying, but it is also really dangerous. When this situation is the one you experience on a daily basis, it is time to look for a new vehicle. Taking out a bank loan gives you the opportunity to obtain the amount of money necessary or something safe.

For a House

In order to buy a house, most people need to take out a loan. Once you have secured the loan, you are able to purchase a place for your family to live in. You might wind up selling it in a few years and making a decent amount of money off of the property.

Rental Properties

Are you looking for some extra income? Do you want to have a place to live in when retirement comes around for you and your spouse? Get started on making that plan today, and you could take out a loan to buy a rental property. Throughout the year, you will be able to make a profit from it.

Home Renovations/Repairs

Instead of waiting years and years to save up enough money to add an extra bedroom onto your house, take out a loan to complete the work. In addition to finally having enough space for your family, you will also be significantly increasing the potential resale value of your home.

To Start a Charity

In certain cases, you might be able to take out a nonprofit loan from the bank, or you may be able to get a loan to finally get your charity organization started. Many people dream of opening up such a place, but they simply do not have the money to do so. Taking out a bank loan gives you the opportunity to achieve this personal goal and to create better lives for others too.

As you can now see, bank loans do not have only one purpose. Instead, these types of loans have so many different opportunities to provide to you, so get started on obtaining yours as soon as possible by clicking here. (link removed)

Y Turns 1

Warning: Photo-heavy

I just committed a blogger sin that I vowed not to commit - it took me a week and two days before I wrote a post about Y's birthday! His first birthday! Because of this, I think I've got some explaining to do.

First, his birthday was exhausting. I think I already pointed this one out in the Sneak Peek that I posted weeks ago. I never knew planning (and then executing) a birthday party would be so tiring! I swear, I was drained of energy before, during, and after Y's birthday. Hindi na ako uulit.

By the way, to those who sent greetings and excuse messages that time, I'm sorry if my replies were either late or too short. Pagod lang talaga si Davao Mommy.

Second, his birthday fell on Holy Week. That should have given me enough time to blog, but Y's yaya went home. This means I was on full-time mommy duty. Also, I was kind of making it up to Y for almost totally ignoring him during the party (as explained here).

Third, I was kind of busy campaigning for my entry as part of Sample Room's Blogger Circle. I wanted to focus on one thing at a time, so I focused first on the thing with the deadline.

Fourth, just when I already had time to blog, Y came down with a slight fever. I had to take a leave from work to take care of him myself. Yes, I don't let the yaya take care of him when he's sick. #humblebrag

I guess that's it. I've exhausted my reasons; am I forgiven? Hahaha. Anyway, I think you're already tired of reading my words, so I will let the photos do the talking. Enjoy!

Party Preppers

Our do-it-yourself cupcake toppers. Shoot me an email if you want me to send you the raw file!

Homemade moist chocolate cupcakes c/o Lola

Y's "guest book"

I did not want to buy a thick guest book (too cumbersome) or anything that resembles a book. I wanted something simple that I could place inside his photo album, so I made a "guest page" using the design for his tarpaulin.

The house setup

We just used our dining table and covered it with a Mickey Mouse mantle. Please don't mind that it's pink. The photo looks peaceful and serene, but the kitchen is one big mess. :D

The Mickey Mouse corner.

Well, actually, this is where we placed the utensils table (later on). I placed some Mickey Mouse wall stickers and placed Y's Mickey Mouse chair (which I wrote about here). However, the effect is underwhelming because it doesn't fit the chair properly. Perhaps I can find Y a better chair when he grows a little bit older. :-)

And yes, that Y's thumb blocking the view.

Party Proper

Cupcake tower!

Our Mickey Mouse cupcake tower is purely DIY (do-it-yourself). My mom baked the cupcakes, we made the tower from scratch, and I made the cupcake toppers. Hurrah!

Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake

The parents found this Mickey Mouse-themed cake in a bakeshoppe near our house. It's cheap, so cheap I wouldn't even tell you how much it is. Hahaha! I know that's not the real Mickey Mouse, but who cares really?

Cupcake closeup. Yum!

Buffet in the foreground and elders in the background

My sister holding a couple of balloons (duh?) :D

Can you spell h-a-g-g-a-r-d?

We were practicing how to clap this time. :D

I would tell you about the outfit, but I look so bad, soooo... never mind. Hahaha!

Random photo of my sorority sister, Lenin, my mom, and Y's yaya

Waiting for the others

Don't the cupcake tower and the hotdogs scream children's party? :-)

My guests from my previous workplace arrived. Y wouldn't clap anymore!

These are our dear family friends' twin daughters.

I love having children in the house.

Group picture!

Another group photo with my sorority sisters and fraternity brother.

I wasn't able to take many photos during the party itself, and there were a lot of guests who weren't Kodaked. Sayang. :-(

The Aftermath

This photo was already taken at 1 in the morning when we were just finishing cleaning up the house. Y woke up a few minutes earlier.

I realized I forgot to take a photo of the wall decors my sister made. :-)

Tarpaulin and wall stickers and balloons

Christmas came early!

Can you believe this gift opening happened in the wee hours of the morning? Everyone was still up, so all of us gathered in the parents' bedroom!

Candy Crush - literally!

The Morning After

This looks like a selfie, no?

And another one for Instagram!

Just in case you're wondering why Y looks like that in the photos above, here's the little boy's breakfast.

And these are some of the candies and chocolates that survived the crushing. Don't worry; Y didn't eat any.

Whew. What a day. :-)

Our Simple Easter

Yes, I'm catching up on my blogging today. Masyado akong nag-enjoy sa long weekend ko. Kain lang ako nang kain. No work, no blogging! (Except for the Sample Room's Blogger Circle post teehee #makapluglang)

It was a good thing I was able to leave the house or I would've become a total bum. In tradition of our Sunday OOTDs, let me foist on you what we wore last Easter Sunday:

I wore the ZARA sandals I scored here. I'm not brave enough to take a closeup photo of my feet. :P

The leggings are from a department store (not sure where), and I realized wearing them makes my legs look fat. Boo!

White headband from Uyanguren :D
Sheer maroon cardigan (a 30-year old pamana ni Inay). I also wore it weeks ago here.
Front-zip dress/ long top from www.aionlineshop.com
Bag from SM Parisian

On Y:
Top: Tommy Hilfiger
Shorts: I forgot... Kidstyle?
Shoes: Luvable Friends (the only thing that could fit him now!)

My sister is wearing a cardigan and a plaid dress from my closet. They're supposed to be included in my garage sale, but I guess younger sisters always get first dibs!

Second realization: She forgot to button the cardigan completely. :P
Kaya smile na lang!
Kissy kissy photo

Y: Go away.

Third realization: My eyebrows are so bushy! Ayayay!
Anyway, I mentioned last time na I don't really celebrate Lent and Easter. But I love looking at Easter Eggs! I didn't prepare anything, though, kasi sino nga naman ang maghahanap? Good thing there were giant Easter Eggs over at SM Lanang Premier.

The first giant egg is right below the sun roof. Only my sister was brave enough to have her photo taken with it.
Good thing there was another set :-)
We joined SM's Eggstagram contest. The photo above is our entry. But we didn't win! Baket??? Saan kami nagkamali? Hahaha just kidding.

And oh, according to sources, Forever 21 is having another clearance sale. Tama ba ang balita? If it is, then iiwas muna ako sa pagpunta sa SM. :D

By the way, my post about Y's birthday party has been looong overdue. I hope I get to blog about it soonest! In the meanwhile, here's a sneak peek of what happened. (Sorry, ngayon ko lang na-realize wrong spelling pa talaga yung title ng post last time. :D)
