The Steady Weekend That Was

The past weekend was, you guessed it, a steady one. The days were smoother for me mainly because bati na kami ni Job. Actually, we didn't fight (ako lang nagtampo) so it's more accurate to say because I already forgave him.

Not forgiving someone is like letting him (or her?) steal our joy, no? And our peace, too. If you don't forgive, you're the loser!
This is my current favorite photo of Yuri. Doesn't it look very peaceful? And really cute? #fishing

So again, the past weekend was a smooth-sailing one for me. I'll let the photos do the talking na. Hee hee.

Friday means sugar indulgence!

Our tita (a neighbor who's very close to our family) recently came back from a trip to the States. She got back bearing pasalubong of course. Ano pa nga ba. I didn't care for the cosmetics and bags. I made a beeline for this:

The Weekend Before Christmas in Photos

Good morning! Two days nalang, Christmas na! Have you completed your Christmas shopping already? Me, I'm almost done. Just one more gift, but that would be given after Christmas so no pressure here. Meanwhile, it's already 1pm but the weather is still so cool. I love it! On the other hand, my body is so sore. Overexhausted! Fatigued! But it's okay. I love the Christmas season!

To be honest, I'm too tired to spew out words for a proper blog, so I'll just let the photos do the talking.

Days before Christmas, Mama still keeps on adding Santa Clauses and snowmen to her growing collection. :-)
I love this little house and the little Santas! (There are six of them.)
I have also finished wrapping all my gifts. Achievement unlocked! Yay!
Our little Christmas tree - now with presents (although none of them is mine!)
This year was the first time Yuri has ever gone out carolling. You see, my Mama is one of the subdivision's officers, and one of the projects every Christmas is the carolling to raise funds for the partey. :D

(Sorry for the dark photo; my sister didn't want to tinker with the camera's settings because we were already left behind. Meanwhile, if you look closely, you will see Yuri smiling hehe.)
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
An Italian neighbor of ours got out her laptop so that her sister (I assume),
who was on Skype (I assume), could see and hear us sing Christmas songs. :D
I love walking in the evening.
I "crush" this house!

Weekend Round-up! (December 2-6)

Hi! Before anything else, let me tell you that this is a scheduled post that I wrote yesterday. I noticed that I never have anything up on Sundays. That's because I'm almost always out during these days. After all, as a WAHM, those are the only days I'm outside the house!

Beginning today, though, I'll be posting WEEKEND ROUND-UPS regularly. These are just list of the posts I've written throughout the week. If you're bored on a Sunday and you happen to stumble on my blog, you might find something worthy of your time from these round-ups! Hopefully you will!

Anyway, for this past week, these are the posts I have written:

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

And that's how our week went! I hope your week was as uneventful and not as stressful as mine. And, oh, there are only 17 days before Christmas. I'm doing my shopping now as you read this!

Ordinary Weekend at Home

I didn't have the heart to go out last weekend. Who would when all you see on TV is the devastation of Yolanda? We stayed home all weekend instead. And, of course, took crappy photos using my cell phone.

(My mom borrowed my camera for her business trip to Baguio and Manila. Her camera kasi broke, and she didn't want to use her phone's and tablet's camera. Meaning, all that was left to me was my phone's 3mp camera. Haha!)

Anyway, here's how our thankfully-uneventful weekend went:

Playing with wires:
Yuri had a fascination with playing with the wires of our gadgets. I let him be because he's actually discovering what the wires' heads are for, where they go, etc. Oo, may future sa pag-memechanic. Why not. Chos! But seriously, he's been trying to insert wires into hubs since he turned 1. Disclaimer: He always plays with super close supervision and none of the wires are plugged-in.

Trying out Iya's (lola's) shoes:
Yuri, who has an unhealthy a morbid an intense fascination with shoes cannot resist trying out his Iya's kicks while she was packing her things before her flight.

Getting sentimental over a song:
Trivia: Yuri has always gotten teary-eyed whenever I softly sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Ang weird! I remember him crying over that song when he was just a few months old. Last night, we discovered a Youtube channel called Super Simple Songs

Guess what? They had a Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star video! We showed it to Yuri, and here are the stages of his reaction:

Stage 1: Fascination

Stage 2: Doubt

Stage 3: Getting crumply-faced and teary-eyed

Stage 4: Cry!

Suffice to say, I was very entertained for a few minutes. :-P

Ms. Universe 2013:
I also had to watch Ms. Universe 2013 as I do every single year. I wasn't able to watch the live telecast because, hello, 2AM = me soundly sleeping. Instead, I caught the replay on ABS-CBN. I decided that I am not a fan of Ariella Arida because she just can't speak. I'm not judging her smarts because she really is intelligent. There are also a lot of people who can't speak well in public (like me!), but in this case, she needs to speak properly. Case in point: jabs for "jobs" and uniberse.

My favorite candidate, based on my shallow criterion of physical appearance, is Ms. Switzerland.

Jollibee for lunch:

There was no one in the house last Sunday who was up for cooking. Everyone was feeling lazy - well, it was only me, my sister, and my dad. So I got some coupons from a Jollibee event and called delivery service. The food was good, as usual, but service was C.R.A.P. It arrived more than an hour after I called. When I followed up, the girl from Jollibee said na na-erase daw nya ang details of my order. What? So if I didn't call to follow up, wala talagang dadating na order!

Sesame Street Sunday:
Yuri and I spent the earlier part of the afternoon running around. Well, it was he who was running around and me who was sitting down and watching him. Hehe.

The Case of the Hacked Credit Card & Other Stories

1. First glimpse of the house

Okay, this is misleading. Our actual house won't be built until next year (the earliest). So it would be a while before I would be posting photos of our house here. However, the model house is almost ready, and my parents (who are both real estate agents) went to the site last Saturday. I wanted to come, too, but a construction site isn't the most comfy place for a baby, so I begged them to take photos instead:
That's my pop in red.

Victor's Place Davao City
I'm just glad the windows aren't jalousies. Teehee.

2. The case of the hacked credit card

Yesterday, I told you that my weekend has been pretty uneventful - except for the fact that someone went on a shopping spree using my mom's credit card. It was either it got hacked or some cashier was able to copy the numbers fast. It was my problem, too, because the card was our sort of joint responsibility. My mom blamed me at first because of my reputation as an online shopper, but I swear I always use bank transfer as a method of payment.
Our only legit transactions are the ones with SM Supermarket Lanang and Island Rose. The rest... what the heck?

My Saturday afternoon was pretty much spent on calling BDO and contacting Amazon, ELF and a certain online store based on Bulacan. It was easy to assume that the thief is a Filipina woman. She spent almost 10k in just a span of 2 days. God knows what else she ordered in the days not covered by the bill.

3. Yuri's new toy box

Last Week in Photos

Hi, everyone! Happy Monday! How's your weekend? Mine has been pretty uneventful - except for the fact that my mom's credit card got hacked. But let's reserve that for another post.

My camera has finally worked well again; turns out batteries lang pala ang kailangan palitan. Whew! Still, I could use another camera hahaha. That's a side note. This post is really about the random photos I've seen in my camera, photos that were taken last week.

First, I realized that Yuri's toy box is already too small for his toys. His toys get larger in number as he grows up, and his box (the one we got when he was still a newborn baby) just can't fit them anymore. Here's a cute GIF that I made:

I also unearthed my sister's old toy car. I did not buy one for Yuri on purpose because I know Chelsea's car was still alive. After digging through the boxes upstairs, I did find it! Albeit covered in dust. Hehe. Nothing a good scrubbing won't remove!

Side story:

I told Honey, Yuri's yaya, to clean the car for me. First, I made her hose it down outside the house. Then, I noticed she came back inside and got the tissue. Ha? Para saan? She'll scrub na daw the dirt that hardened on the toy. Ha?! Tissue?! Pang-scrub?! Okay ka lang?

To cut the long story short, I took over the job of scrubbing the car. I got an old toothbrush and a plastic container filled with soapy water. Ganyan, Honey. Ganyan magscrub ng dumi! Good luck sa tissue mo!

May pahabol pa. After I finally finished scrubbing the toy car (and gave my arms a workout), she told me:

Ate, ilabas ko na ulit yung hose para mabanlawan mo na yan?

Ano ka, sinuswerte? Ikaw na magbanlaw no! Pak!

Anyway, here's the toy car in all its pink and purple glory:
Malinis na sya, thanks to me. Hahaha

I also remembered the gummy candies that came with our free vitamins from Doc. Actually, Doc wasn't supposed to give this, but Yuri already grabbed it from her hands. Oh well. Just one or two lang ha!

They supposedly contain Ascorbic Acid, which I doubt, but they came in cute fruit shapes, so sige na nga. Here they are:

I could not stop the little hand from grabbing at the colorful candies:
Just a disclaimer: I don't feed Yuri candies. This is the only exception, and I have only given him around three or four teeny-tiny bites. Sue me.

I also discovered the best way for Yuri to eat his oatmeal and cereals: in cake form!
I like the way this cake turned out. It had a good balance of moist chewy and spongy. Yay! The bad thing is that I don't have the recipe: I just mixed stuff and prayed for the best. Boo!

Finally, Yuri also discovered the joy of playing baby games on the cellphone:

I downloaded some baby games for Yuri to try out. I've only given him the cellphone when he turned 18 months, by the way. And it looks like it's an effective way to teach! Look at him almost placing the cat in its outline perfectly:

That's how my week looked like last week (with the exception of mundane tasks and work, of course). I hope we all have a good week this week! :-)

Saturday Meetup with Former Officemates

Happy Monday, everyone! Antagal kong di nakapagblog. Imagine, I didn't blog for just four days, my ranking in TopBlogs already went from 135 down to 213. No justice! Hahaha! :P

I kid, I kid. Anyway, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful, but it was fun. Last Saturday, I met up with some of my former teammates from my former office, Pepper. It has been months since I last saw them (I think last September, during Y's baptism), and it has been almost a year since I left the office to work at home.

Gee, time really does fly so fast, doesn't it? It makes me want to get into a nostalgic mood...

Nah, sayang oras. Time runs fast nga, diba? Hahaha! Anyway, before I digress, we have been planning to meet up since January. And palaging napopostpone (I'm glad to say hindi ako ang reason! Yay! :P). We were finally able to meet up last Saturday, March na. Haha! We decided to meet up in Abreeza Mall.

I decided to bring Y along because our yaya's on leave. My sister also wanted to come due to boredom. Okaaay! Here we are with our "obligatory" OOTD shots:

Smile, baby!
I was having a good hair day - before I stepped outside the house! It was literally mahangin sa labas.
See what I mean? Hahaha we look so funny in this photo - especially Y! :D
Ayan, the wind stopped blowing na. Whew!

Blouse: From our neighbor's garage sale
Shorts: Old Navy
Shoes: Solemates (as usual)
Bag: Parisian (as usual)

On Y:
Rompers: Carter's
Shoes: Luvable Friends (Sorry, mommy is tamad to change shoes.)
My sister didn't want her photo taken kasi naka-tshirt lang daw sya. Okaaaay! Hahahaha.  Well, our day didn't start so well because we had a bit of a trouble with the taxi driver. Let's just say that instead of the usual P120-P130 fare to Abreeza, our meter went up to almost P170. Haist! #breathes #letsitgo

We were already running late and lunchtime na when we arrived at the mall. We decided to eat at Hukad because my budget was limited. (I really do plan to simplify this year!) Good thing my sister only wanted to eat chicken; nakatipid ako! Here's what she ordered:

My 11-year old sister took this shot! :-)
I fed Y before I ate, but after eating, he got irritable and started shouting. Buti na lang Hukad had an outdoor area. I got him outside while my sister and officemates ate. Later, my sister followed.
Y's "I'm irritable - face" at the outdoor area of the restaurants in Abreeza

After a while, I was starting to get hungry. So my sister got Y from me, and they were outside for just enough time for me to eat. Afterwards, I went outside again and took Y from my sister. He started acting up again. I checked the time and saw it was time for his afternoon nap. So I excused myself from the girls and went to the breastfeeding room.

Ahh.. Cocooned in one of Abreeza's breastfeeding room's sofas
My sister's only photo from Saturday :P
What I didn't know was that wala pa lang signal sa loob ng breastfeeding room. I didn't know where everyone was! After breastfeeding Y, my sister and I decided to just stroll around on our own. I did saw them later (They were eating gelato! Unfair! Haha!), but it was already time to do a quick grocery shopping and go home. :-(

In short, I almost never got to talk to them! I never even got a photo of us in my camera! Next time, I will go alone. Haha!

PS: Rona, I'm still waiting for the photos from your DSLR! Sorry daw sabi ng point-and-shoot ko.

UPDATE: Rona finally uploaded the photos from her DSLR. Feast your eyes on these! Chos! Hahaha!

Is this the tuna belly?

Firing squad girls: Claire, Tin, and Camille
We caught them eating gelato! Hehe. That's me, Y, Camille, Rona, and my sister.
Hi! Bye! :P
